TEEN COURSE
32 hours of in-class instruction done 2 hrs per day and 14 hours of in-car instruction broken down into 2 hour blocks (1 hour behind the wheel and 1 hour observing). Teens can miss 5 classes, but they must be made up.
TESTING SERVICE
We can give your teen the written Permit test at our location after completing 6 hours of class (3 classes). This will dramatically reduce your wait time at the DPS.
NEW PROCESS FOR ISSUING PERMITS
Homeland Security is requiring that all permits have a picture. Therefore, the student will be required to go to the DPS in person to have their picture taken when applying for a permit. After passing the permit test with us, a parent or court appointed guardian (bring court papers with you) must accompany the teen to the DPS office of your choice. Also, bring your teens Social Security Card, original or certified copy of their Birth Certificate, V.O.E, Texas Residency Affidavit along with 2 proofs of Texas Residency (parent/guradian) and $16.
NEW LAWS FOR TEEN DRIVERS LICENSE
Any student who applies for a permit will be required to take a driving test at the DPS or with a Third Party Skills Testing School, like Champions, in order to recieve a driver's license at age 16 and after holding the permit for 6 months. Champions Driving School will continue to require the student to pass an in-car final exam in order to successfully complete the driver education course and to prepare them for the driving test.
DADAP CLASS
The Drug and Alcohol Driving Awareness Program is a part of our class and if you purchase a certificate will result in an extra 5% off your teens insurance. This is in addition to the 10% insurance discount your teen will receive until they are 25 for males or 21 for females… just for finishing our course.
